CAROLYN OUELLETTE

MA, LPCC

Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor

Certified NARM Therapist (NeuroAffective Relational Model)

I help thoughtful, capable individuals, couples, and families navigate complex trauma, relationship distress, betrayal, burnout, and major life transitions. Many people come to therapy feeling disconnected from themselves or the people they love, caught in patterns they do not fully understand, or overwhelmed by the demands they carry.

I specialize in couples therapy and support partners navigating recurring conflict, emotional distance, communication breakdowns, betrayal or infidelity, and challenges rebuilding trust. Together, we look beneath the arguments to understand the cycle that leaves you feeling hurt, alone, or misunderstood. We work toward more honesty, trust, emotional closeness, and security in your relationship.

We’re not meant to do life alone. I help individuals, couples, and families heal from trauma, strengthen relationships, and prevent burnout. My therapy approach blends awareness, compassionate insight, and practical tools to create lasting change in your body, mind, and relationships.

I support clients through life’s hardest seasons, helping you understand your story, regulate your nervous system, and build secure, meaningful connections. My clinical focus includes developmental and complex trauma, healing after betrayal, couple and family therapy, military families (including work with the Wounded Warrior Project), and supporting high-responsibility professionals.

Whether you’re working to move beyond old patterns, repair relationships, or find balance, therapy with me focuses on strengthening emotional regulation, reclaiming agency, and nurturing connection in every area of life.

I integrate Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and the NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM) to help clients heal from trauma and build healthy relationships.

  • EFT therapy is based on the science of attachment, it helps individuals and couples create emotional safety and stronger bonds.

  • NARM therapy focuses on reconnecting with your natural capacity for calm and resilience, even if early life experiences disrupted it.

Together, these methods help you restore inner steadiness and develop trust, both in yourself and in safe relationships with others.

I grew up in Canada and moved to the United States at 17. I’ve been married for 21 years and am a mom to two young adults and one teen. Outside the therapy room, I enjoy swimming, hiking, and outdoor climbing with my family. These parts of my life remind me that healing is relational, embodied, and possible.

I’m warm, attentive, and gently challenging, helping clients feel understood while making lasting shifts in their bodies and relationships. Sessions are collaborative, emotionally safe, and focused on practical, present-moment change.
